So, my husband and I recently moved to South Carolina from Florida for a job. On the weekends we go exploring Charleston…there is so much to do here! From historical downtown to the old plantations….I’m definitely going to need some cute shorts for summer! So here is the first of many to come!
For these I used Simplicity Easy to sew pattern 2258( wanted to start simple…they are my first shorts you know.) They are simple with elastic! I added the ties ends from the skirt in the pattern so my shorts wouldnt look like granny pants. I love how they turned out! Super fun fabric was a b-day gift from a gal pal..
Lightweight and comfy! Perfect for porch swings, Sweet tea, and all things summertime brings!
Some sort of cotton blend…1 and 1/2 yds
elastic and a coupla buttons.

i was looking at your shorts thinking “ahhhh! i want to make them!” so i searched for the pattern online only to discover i already own it!!!! :-) i’ve made the skirt and loved it… the shorts don’t look all that appealing on the envelope, but wow! you have inspired me to add these to my to-do list !

Ya, that pic is horrible, but add the ties ends from the skirt to hide the waistband and choose a better fabric and they will look nothing like the pic! good luck!

Your shorts are really beautiful and so professional looking. What a great job for your first time. My daughter would love me to make them for her.

One of the sweetest fabrics I have ever seen, definitely does not look like your first par of shorts! The pockets look so professional, gah, great job. :)

The ties are a great touch, and your friend has very good taste: the fabric is so cute!!

Very nice execution for a first time pair of shorts. Plus, you’ve picked the perfect accessories. Is that a Betsey Johnson necklace? Cute all around!
