I’m making 3 of these to hang from a big maple tree for my grandchildren! I’m using outdoor fabric which is weatherproof and as sturdy as canvas and comes in a colorful variety of designs. What fun!!

I’d say that depends – on the type of fabric, the material of the bottom, the strength of the seams and the hook in the ceiling. I used sturdy denim-like fabric and sewed all seams twice, and I will wait and see how long it lasts.
You can scale it up a bit if you like, too.
