For reference here’s the spot in “the video the costume is based on”: http://youtu.be/wagn8Wrmzuc?t=2m16s
It was designed by Alex Noble. “Here’s another great reference for the designer”: http://gagafashionland.com/2011/05/judas-fashion-part-7-alex-noble/
This was the most challenging and fun project I have ever done. I am shocked it came out so well! I was literally going frame by frame through the video to figure out the details. There are still some structural challenges I hope to work out before the big party in Boston tonight. Mainly, the heart is SO HEAVY I had to back it with a ruler!
blue 2-way stretch vinyl (fyi blue leather is approximately a thrillion dollars per yard :-x)
interfacing to the ceiling
Chinese print brocade
one inch tree spikes
one inch gold studs
sequins x a million
silver paint for the rays (tried stitching, total fail!)
a blueberry scented marker to color in the wrong side of the strips :-P
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
