This is a skirt I actually finished last month already, but had no time to upload. Here it goes! :)
The fabric is wool and very soft and warm. I like the color a lot because it is so feminine (hope that this will show up on the photos, it is a dark rosé/apricot). I did not need a pattern for this one. Everything is made out of rectangles! The waistband, the skirt and even the bow!
wool, zipper, 2 small snap fastener

It’s adorable. I tried to make the Linda skirt ages ago and eventually gave up, but you’ve inspired me to re-attempt it. Add a wider yoke, and a bow. Now why didn’t I think of that? _

What parts of your body did you measure to come up with your pattern sizes? Waist and hip? And how did you know how much extra to add for the gathering around the waist? I appreciate your help!

That is right! You need to measure your waist for the waistband. But consider that the waistband is about 10cm wide, so maybe you should take the largest measurement, if you do not use some stretch fabric. (for breathing) :)
Then you need to add some allowance for the zipper. I usually cut pieces a little larger. You can always adjust afterwards.
For the gathering I actually did not know how much extra would be appropriate and I am glad that it turned out, the way it has! ;)
A little hint: My hip is about 90cm and I cut the skirt piece 155cm in width. I guess, a minimum of 1.5 time your hip size should be good. The wider you make it the more gathering you will get.
I hope this was helpful!
Do not hesitate to ask again! :)

Thank you!
Actually, the solution is quite practical and I guess not very professional. The bow is stitched on the waistband only on the right hand side. For the other side I used small snap-fastener. ;)

Oh, what a clever idea! I like it!
