Description

I wanted to make a bra from non-stretch fabric, so I cut up a top that I’ve never worn to make this set.
The bra pattern is Pin-up Girls Classic Bra #1230, I added 0.5 cm to the length of the upper cup to compensate the non-stretchiness. The band is cut on bias and lined with pwer net.
The panties are cut on bias so they are stretchy. The pattern is from a Japanese pattern book from a local library.

The finished bra is not as smooth as bra made with lycra. With all those embroideries, they are not suitable to be worn under T-shirt. But they look very pretty and surprisingly comfortable! I think the bra would be perfect to be worn under thin loose blouse or with the floral straps peeking.

    That looks really good! I want to learn how to make lingerie too. You wrote that you used the Pin-up pattern, Where can I get it? Do they have like a webshop or something?

      I’ve just started learning making lingerie but sewing them wasn’t difficult at all. The pieces are small so you just have to pay attention to the sewing order and stitching lines.

    I stumbled upon someones blog who went on a trip to New Zeland i think and they were at this store that only sold material for lingerie and I thought it would be awesome to make lingerie. if I could do what you did I would have a matching set for everyday of the week.

      This is not difficult at all! I just started learning to make bra last month and I finished this bra in less than 2 hours. The important thing is to follow the sewing order, which one goes first etc. I use Pin-Up girls pattern and it has very good instruction :)
