Fabric Origami Boxes

Added Dec 16, 2010

by lizajane09

Upstate, South C...

These were made to house little presents and treasures. I’d thought I’d share how I made them. Not exactly sewing, but this is the time of year for craftiness, isn’t it? Makes for a cute little wrapped present.
It looks like a lot of steps but it is actually pretty easy. I went overboard with pictures- I’m a visual learner.

Material Notes

Any sort of fabric, heavy duty interfacing like Pellon Craft Fuse, fabric glue

Garment Type

Thank you so much. Such a sweet and simple and very creative project.

I am going to make atleast a dozen, this being season of gifts! (i have already made 2 in the trial phase…)

Great idea…could work with other fabrics, I think a great one would be gingham (which is listed in my fabric iphone app). Voile, which is nice and thin, would work too.

I think I’ll make a super=sized version of these for storage containers! I love making the little ones from card stock to put homemade gifts in :) Very cute!

Sweet boxes, they look perfect! I’m very afraid of Origami, they usually end up torn, bitten and swallowed ;))) or simply in the junk…but I could manage these because I learned to make paper boxes years ago. Thanks for sharing!
