My dearest friends Nao and artemis were getting married last Saturday and I wanted to make a dress that would have some relationship with them… They are into vintage, and Liberty prints, which they use as inspiration to their work… (http://simetra-junkaholic.blogspot.com/p/our-wedding.html)
I went to Liberty’s 3rd floor to buy the fabric, and being half of our families Japanese, I chose a Japanese inspired print. I then bought a vintage pattern and begun work…
I like the result, but most importantly (to me) they loved it ;-)
3m of Liberty fabric...(Anne Tyrell D, Tana Lawn Liberty Fabric) It was 1.36m wide, so I reduced the width of the 4 pieces making up the skirt by around 10 cm at either side... To be honest, not being used to wear such a girly style, It suited me, but if you are after volume... you might want to choose something wider.

it looks lovely, but could we see the back? I like the v shape, but it always looks different on a living person than on the pattern illustration…

This is really cute! Funnily enough I just finished making this dress too. I called mine The House Boat Dress if you want to check it out :-)
