After reading ‘a dress a day’ for a while now, I really wanted to make a vintage style dress. I drafted this pattern myself. It’s got kimono sleeves, a shawl collar, buttons at the front and an invisible zipper at the side and a full circle skirt. Although I really like the look of it worn with belt, it doesn’t need a belt to keep its shape. I plan on uploading the bodice pattern (with instruction to make the skirt) but I have very little time, so please be patient.

I’m also hooked on a dress a day. I wish I was less of a jeans and tee-girl and more of a dress a day-lady. Your dress is so pretty and if you had a Boutique I would shop there for sure!

Really cute dress! Excellent job with drafting the pattern. The large polka dot trim is so lovely, and matches perfectly with the shoes (they are quite interesting and very vintage looking, by the way). I can imagine this dress being made out of contrasting colors fabrics, or being trimmed with the emroidered fabric, or satin. It is so versatile. Thank you for the effort to make and share the pattern.

The shoes were a lucky find: after I made the dress, I found them in a market stall opposite the one where I bought the fabric.

full circle skirt, wow! I wanted to see you turn around :-) I love how you used the polkadot fabric to the collar and hem line of the skirt, and of course, how you wore it with those shoes, too!
