Donna Karan shirt dress

Sydney, Australia

This is Vogue V1220, a Donna Karan pattern that’s recommended for hour-glass shapes but that seems to look pretty good on everyone judging by the reviews I’ve seen. I made this from a Japanese stretch cotton check; the pattern needs a little stretch as it’s quite fitted.

I’m not sure whether to classify this as Intermediate or Advanced… there are details to the pattern that require a fair bit of sewing experience, and it’s a project with a lot of steps so not a quick one.

If you’d like to know more about the pattern details or see a few more pictures I’ve also blogged the dress here:

Material Notes

Stretch cotton-polyamine from Tessuti fabrics

Garment Type
Business, Classic
Cotton, Blends

It looks exactly like you’ve pulled it from the pattern cover!

Aw thanks! It’s actually a very flattering style though – seems to create curves in the right places and mask the unwanted ones :-)
