This is a wallet I made with a self drafted pattern using some cute Alexander Henry Dia de los Muertos themed skull fabric (hence the name). You really can’t tell what the fabric is unless you open the wallet up and look at the back but the pattern is so pretty even just as an abstract design so I still like it.
It has 3 card holder pockets, two money pockets, a zipped coin pocket on the back and a button closure. I trimmed it with some red mini pom pom ribbon (is that what you would call that stuff?) and added a vintage button.
Read the blog post for more pictures and extra notes on how to make the wallet. The pattern download includes instructions but no photos.

I am so glad I found this – I was about to buy just any wallet to replace my old one, but this is so much better! Thank you for the pattern! Love the cute style and the “layout” of the wallet is definitely more to my liking than what I had before!

this is so nice, I love it! The fabric is awesome! It looks so professional too… you should make more and sell them!
I made a wallet recently but it didnt turn out very well because my sewing machine couldn’t sew through the four layers of the fabric I used plus the interfacing but I’m going to have a go at this one and see how it turns out! Thanks so much for sharing :D

thank you! maybe you should have a test run at it. try the same amount of layers of fabric and interfacing with different needle sizes and tension on your machine. I’ve had problems before where my needle just couldn’t do it and everything would get jammed. So frustrating!
