We chose the crushed velvet for this creation to give it a fuller effect. A regular velvet or any other plain fabric would give you a cleaner line. Experiment with different colors or a trim for the border underneath the bust and end up with a completely different style.

How would you make this work for people with a tiny bust?

I’m a bit underwhelmed with the bodice. I wish Burda would get more creative with darts! How about some side darts? Or make the darts whiskered. I dunno… I feel like i keep on seeing the same bodice over and over and over again. :/

i need help on Danielle! I absolutely hate the sleeves but at 43, I don’t relish going sleeveless. Any suggestions? I have taken the elastic from the sleeves and now need a way to tame the sleeves that isn’t poofy. The fabric is cotton so is a bit stiff. The poof sleeves just aren’t cutting it for me. The fabric is orange goldy ochery batiky. Ugh.
If I ever make this again, it will be with something super soft so the sleeves drape better.
Please HELP!

if you have enough fabric you could cut some mores sleeves and just make them normal or even long ones ? hope that helps

Beautiful dress, and I love the hat the model is wearing on the pictures.

I love this dress, but the fabrics needed is confusing me a lot, What are the embroidered silk, Satin, & Chiffon used for? If you were to make the dress out of the same fabric would you just add those numbers together and thats how much fabric you need?

I love this dress, but when I tried to make it sleeveless, I had problems with the facing on the neckline and the armholes. Any advice? I saw the all in one facing tutorial for the azalea dress , but I can’t figure out how to make it work w Danielle because of the darts.
