I named this project after My husband told me I looked like a cream puff on seeing me in this outfit for the first time. (He meant well!!)
Double layers of fabric were used for the blouse since it was see-through. I serged(roll hem) both layers together at the bottom hem.
I got the orange fabric for the skirt from a local second-hand fabric store—-I think it’s Cotton/Poly. It didn’t take ironing well… but on the other hand, it does not wrinkle easily, so I guess that’s a good thing for the skirt.
I shortened the skirt and eliminated the slit in the center back.
I’m also wearing the crocheted collar necklace I made (it’s in my previous projects).

Blouse—cotton batiste (second-hand)
Skirt—-cotton/poly (best guess, second hand)

Thanks!!
I actually used 38 according to my hip measurement, and it turned out to be quite huge on me. I took in like 2 inches in the center. (because I think having a smaller center piece make me look skinnier:)) I wish I had done muslin first since the fit is crucial on this skirt and it’s pretty simple to sew all the pieces together. That way i could’ve simply pinched out the excess amont, then transfered to the pattern.
Hope that helps! Good luck on your skirt :)

It looks very stylish. Both items look well fitted and well-made (especially considering the ironing issues you had) and I love those colours.
