For the idea of this dress, I combined a dress from a 1950’s picture with a dress posted on Burdastyle (by member Satomi, I believe, please correct me if I’m wrong). I made my own pattern: wrap dress with large lapel collar, kimono sleeves and full circle skirt. I’m quite happy with it.

Thank you for the new comments on this dress. The reason why I post so few patterns is just the work involved. I draft my patterns the old-fashioned way: pencil and paper, and based on my personal sloper. In order to make a version of that pattern to upload, I have to partially re-draft it for what comes closer to Burda’s regular sizing, grade it for other sizes, divide the paper pattern into pieces small enough to feed to the scanner, number the pieces and make connection points on them, cut them, scan those pieces one by one, import them into some program which will make it all one file and then hope it will upload to Burdastyle properly. And that’s before I even start on writing instructions, for which I still have to figure out the requirements on this incarnation of Burdastyle. And writing inscructions is hard.
However, if I am to post another pattern, this one tops the list, especially considering these comments. Just to be sure, let me know what Burdastyle size you are (so I can make sure to include that) and whether you know how to construct a notched collar (it would cut the work load if I don’t have to make detailed instructions straight away…)

Lauriana, i love this dress so much. Years ago I found a dress like this in a small shop in Berlin and didn’t buy it. I still regret it! .. Oh, i would die for the pattern.. is there any way to get it from you?

This dress is beautiful. You have great tailoring in a lot of your work, and the fact that your make so many of your own patterns is wonderful. Is there anyway that you will be posting a pattern to this dress? (I know you made it about two years ago, but maybe . . .)
