made a very simple cocktail dress for my class final project. the whole dress is cut biased except for the sleeves. cowl neck at the back, culotte with pleats for the bottom. i wish could add more details like beads or lace but didn’t have enough time for it. its my first time making something this complicated and very happy that i challenged myself <3
4m of cotton fabric 60"wide, invisible zipper, covered buttons

The fabric and execution are wonderful. I would not have wanted to see lace or anything else compete with this amazing fabric for attention. I think it needs to be better pressed to get the best angles for the top part and the incredible inverted pleat. Gorgeous!

i agree with you. i pressed the dress alone many times. i even dragged the mannequin along on the pressing station but the annoying creases are still there.

i thought blind hem stitches are easy? never used blind hem technique actually but i’ve read some blog posts on it. or do you mean sewing it by hand when you say it takes a lot of time?

you can make blind hems by machine or by hand. by hand it takes quite a lot of time :-)
