I made this wool cape for a vintage themed Tweed Ride (bicycles) in Washington DC. I had the material professionaly fused with interfacing when I was in NY. This acts a bit like underlining, beefing the material up nicely. Because it was already interfaced, I did not need to add any to the collar, collar stand or facing, etc. I drafted a lining pattern from the original cape pattern and made up the lining in hot pink wool challis. I ‘bagged’ the lining and slip stiched it down around the arm openings. Overall the cape is warmer than you’d think! It’s not the most practical cold weather garment, but it’s mad stylish :)

It’s a weft interfacing throughout. I had it done in NYC. But, if you’re patient, could certainly do it at home!
