Description
Last night after dinner I couldn’t help but noticing one of hubby’s former favorite T-shirts from Brooklyn Industries in our “To Donate” pile, with a cool silkscreened design of late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in boxing gloves. I happened to have this Kwik Sew onesie pattern already cut out and ready to test-a few hours later I had this stylish onesie for my baby girl (sorry she can’t model it, but she’s not born yet!)
Material Notes
The body was cut from a 100% cotton T-shirt. The sleeves were a lighter-weight purple cotton lycra knit leftover from various other projects. And the purple foldover elastic binding (FOE) was from Sewzanne’s (online fabric store). I think it adds just a slight girly touch without the usual pink/ribbons/bows overload on most baby girl clothes. I haven’t added snaps yet, but I will.

Ooooh, I love it! Supercool, and I really like that it would work equally well for a baby boy as a baby girl. I’m sure she’ll look adorable – in a tough way – in it.

This is such a great onesie, your little baby will be destined to take on the world with art and dynamic energies…very much made me smile…andy warhol (who I think made the original photo) and jean-michel look on from above, honored and impressed no doubt!
