This is a first dress I made for someone else… It’s been more difficult than I thought, and I made it an dunmade it a few times until I reached and acceptable fit.
I am normally keep to finish the projects quickly, if possible within a day, but this has taken a little bit longer.
One of the reasons is that I used a combination of patterns.
The bodice follows the wedding dress pattern 103 from Burda 3/2011, while the skirt is based on 108B from Burda 5/2011.
The bodice pattern was further lengthened, despite being designed for a tall fit.
In the initial phase I added pleats at the back to give it a more elegant line.
In the second phase, as shown in the picture, I have removed the pleats, shortened the bodice at the back for a better fit, added some inserts in the skirt, to enlarge it slightly.
I added some hand made roses for more impact.
I also added blue and white beads, to go with the white zip slightly visible.
I finally made it wearable!
blue satin, beads, pearl button

Thanks. I must admit, it was a bit of a struggle. It took me longer than all projects together :-(
