Well, just because I’ve decided to stick to existing patterns for now doesn’t mean it has to be boring, right? I loved this blouse in the magazine, but I don’t want my things to look store-bought – only when it comes to the technique. So I added a little embellishment around the collar (the fabric is from a silk tie). My head always starts hurting when I read collar with collar stand instructions, but I found an on-line tutorial with pictures which made me understand it – finally! This one turned out really well even from up close…
I also used the special seam they recommend for the shoulder/upper arm seam on the bottom arm/side seam, so you can roll up the sleeves and have a very smooth look…

Beautiful! I was wondering how this shirt would come out…it looked too easy. But it’s very nice. And the silk tie embellishment was a great addition!!

I know exactly what you mean… and it WAS very easy (especially if you’re familiar with a collar with collarstand). It is a bit big… I considered adding darts, but since there’s no zipper you can’t take it in very much… I’d suggest making it a size smaller than normally, and the only way to wear it is with a tight bottom or a belt – well, that’s my opinion…
