I made this owl costume for my three-year-old from fleece, some elastic, a little batting, and a few feathers (plus a pair of glasses with the lenses popped out, and a beak cut from orange paper). It’s super cozy and cute, though she won’t keep the glasses on for long. I drafted the pattern myself, based on a hooded sweatshirt that fits her well, but I lengthened it into a dress, and put elastic into the bottom to give it a round shape. I quilted the wings a bit to give them some shape and attached them at the shoulder (with elastic to keep them in place on her upper arms). I finished it today, just in time to submit it to the contest!
