Here’s my entry for the Party Through the Decades Competition! I was inspired by the 60’s, and particularly by a Jackie O dress (designed by Oleg Cassini) that I found some photos of. I had some shiny, pale pink fabric that I’ve been holding on to trying to figure out what to make, and it worked great for this project. The color reminds me of pink champagne! I modified a bodice block that I’ve used for a couple other projects, and made up the skirt as I went. I love the box pleats on the skirt of the inspiration dress, so I copied those pretty directly, but gave the bodice a different neckline. And of course I had to have the bow as well! I used the wrong side of the fabric to make the bow because it’s extra shiny, I thought it would make it stand out nicely. Now I’m ready to party!
