The trauma my best friend is experiencing due to the recent tragic death of the Chicken Dress (see my studio) at the ‘hands’ of a hot iron will hopefully be assuaged with this Bedsheet Anda (I nearly wrote ‘replacement’, but nothing will be able to replace the Chicken Dress).

Thanks so much. It was a duvet cover that my best mate no longer wanted for it’s original purpose. It was a repro-print by a company called KIP. I also have this same design in duvet cover form from the ’70’s.

I love this dress. I can’t find any cool sheets like this : )

Love it! The placement is great, and while it may not live up to the memory of the chicken dress, I’m sure this rendition will become a wardrobe fav! I swear my mom has that same sheet in the back of her linen cabinet.

OH NO!! I LOVED THE CHICKEN DRESS!!! i would die for a few yards of that chicken fabric. sadly, as much as i can appreciate the lovely retro print of the bedsheet dress, i’m just not sure if it can fill the chicken dress’ void. i do hope that vic is handling her loss ok. you’re such a good friend to sew her a replacement.

Many thanks for your kind words at this sad time. They are thoroughly appreciated, and I know that we will get through it and be able to look back at the Chicken Dress with nothing but fond memories without being blinded by loss! x

Sorry about the loss of “the chicken dress” to a hot iron. We have all ruined, or will ruin, some lovely garment to an iron. I am glad to see you have a consolation for your friend’s loss, if not a replacement. I really love the print, and enjoyed reading about “The tale of the chicken dress” on your blog. Happy Sewing!

That fabric reminds me of when I was a little girl in the 1970’s. This is the coolest dress. I think its very 70’s retro. Great job on this Anda.

Omg I love this! I want those bedsheets so bad! I have a bag with similar design and I like it so much! I would make curtains from this fabric, so beautiful.

Many thanks Janul! These bedsheets were manufactured by a company called Kip, but the design is actually a reproduction of a 70’s design as I own a vintage duvet cover with exactly the same print but in green colours!
