From the A-Plus A-Line pattern in Twinkle Sews by Wenlan Chia. I modified the pattern by putting all the pleats on one side. I also used buttons and tabs on both sides to close the skirt (I didn’t have any zippers). I like the way it turned out.
Wool-rayon blend. The lining is a light weight cotton-like polyester.

I love the way you moved the pleats. The front pleat version was just too school girl for me, but your side pleat version makes a far more sophisticated skirt – may well now give this a try. Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on your well deserved prize :)

Thanks everyone. I’m such a novice that this is probably the most complex thing I’ve made. It was fun doing something that stretched my comfort level and still turned out good!

Great idea! It is trendy and unusual. It is an example of how creative a skirt can be! I plan to make it as well.
