New York, New Yo...
I’ve always had a thing for sailor pants, and seeing the dance number from Anything Goes during the Tonys made me love nautical-inspired casual wear even more. But it’s summer, and it’s hot in NYC so I made these shorts for now (and the matching tube top). I drafted my pattern based on a pair of faux sailor pants on loan from a friend. The fit is really good. They’d probably be cuter if they were shorter, but I sort of hate wearing shorts, so a Bermuda length is the only style I will go for. I made the white tube top from a scarp of jersey, doubled up and sewn on one side. I made the bow from cotton leftover from the shorts. I love this look.
