Olive green cotton + cropped jacket pattern = great Autumnal transition piece. Today, Serbia-based BurdaStyle member AnaJan teaches us how to turn the Nora gown into a classic military jacket with raglan sleeves and peplum. Who knew the potential of this evening gown pattern? Check out the tutorial and try your own version. Also included in this pattern is a skirt sloper— you have the potential to make a complete look! Available in sizes 34-60 (make sure to choose the correct sized pattern: Nora 34-46, Nora Plus 48-60).
AnaJan has also uploaded 8 free patterns to BurdaStyle— check them out for inspiration.

Thanks for the explanation. Only now I have seen the Nora Plus version. As I am a beginnner, maybe in the future… For the time being, I would be glad to see patterns and made-for sale wide, loose jackets.

The jacket is very nice, but only for young, thin girls. I would like to see more jackets for not so young and not so thin women – according tobody shape (mine is a pear shaped body). Thanks.

Hi shoshana13, thanks for commenting the jacket, and thank you for seeing me as young and thin! :-)
I think the jacket can be worn by many, no matter their age nor body type. Since you mentioned your body type, I’d like to point out that my body is somewhat between X and pear, and I think the jacket suits me quite well.
On the other hand, purpose of this project was to show the members how one pattern can be transformed into a completely different one, with few alterations. This jacket can be transformed further into a coat, or a shirt, or whatever one can think of! I think this is the beauty of the sewing craft.

Why is this marked as inappropriate? I hope someone clicked it by accident…
My comment should have been in the credits section, but I forgot to name the photographer when I sent the project to the BS team.

I love the jacket, but what really I’m surpriced is the Habana Club rum that you have in your cabinet. I miss it a lot. I’m from Cuba tha’s why I recogniced so fast. Enjoy your jacket and the rum as well.

Wow, such a great jacket Ana-Jan! The lines around the shoulders are really, really nice. And I’m going to look at your instructions for inspiration on how to make things clear if I post any more tutorials :-)
