Description

this is my attempt in copying last winter’s dress by Pollini. I drew the pattern at the pattern and sewing school I just started a couple of months ago. It was quite easy to make. I used a fabric that cost me 1 euro a meter, so I didn’t worry too much if it wouldn’t come out fine, but the fabric is not that bad after all, just a little stiff. The sleeves are somehow twisted and I couldn’t figure out how to fix this forward twisting. I have some claustrophobic attacks when I pull it on or take it off, because the top part really fits me like second skin. I’ve worn it at a vernissage with my Dr.Martens boots instead of the regular boots I’m wearing in the pictures, because I didn’t want it to look elegant, I always need a disturbing detail

Material Notes

wool/polyester

Awesome dress. Wrt selling the pattern, just put your pattern up on etsy and post a link here so people can buy it if they want to. Best of luck with pattern drafting!

Okay, I hear you about wanting to get paid for your pattern. Here’s the thing. This dress looks like what I’ve been wanting to do with some fabric I’ve been holding onto for quite some time, so how do I get a version of the pattern? Can I find it elsewhere? Do I have to try to guess it by looking at the pictures? Hints please.

WOAH. I really LOVE this pattern. And your finished dress is amazing, ale.b – it’s so much better than the real Pollini one!

It’s gorgeous and I would love to make it if you are willing to share the pattern. First I have to finish the Charlie bag – which is going to be lined as I don’t have an overlocker – so maybe a dress is a touch optimistic at this stage! Can your tutor help you with the pattern for those of us who would like to have a go ourselves?

This is a gorgeous dress! I am so glad that you released the pattern. The dress is structured but still has movement. The lines are beautiful! I love the overall classic-yet-modern sort of feel. I can’t wait to make one!

Or maybe if you could explain in a How To how you made the pattern? Maybe JJ’s basic sloper could be modified to this…

stunning! your dress is amazing ale.b! I love all on it! great you will share it!

First I thought it was a variation of the celestina dress ;). With a different neckline, shortend and without the reaping. Maybe it helps for your pattern when you have a look on the celestina pattern?
