Another pair or pants from an Alice + Olivia pattern that came highly recommended. My good results with the last pair I made from one of their patterns spurred me to try this one and I’m pretty pleased with the result- they are comfy but smart enough to wear to work. They’re made of stretch Bengaline, a SUPER stretchy woven fabric. I had a pair of pants that I bought in a store that were an incredibly flattering fit thanks to this wonder-fabric and hoped to replicate them, and did a fairly satisfactory job of it.
I really like the single-welt pocket detailing on this pattern. The instructions that came with the pattern were good but I noticed kallers has put together a how to so you can add them to a pattern of your choice.
I have a few more photos, they are here at my flickr.
Stretch Bengaline 69% rayon, 26% nylon 5% spandex
Photographs thanks to the artistic talents of Simon Under Sufferance :o)
Pattern is Vogue 1051

Hey EmilyKate – I have this pattern and some wool crepe to make these as a match to a M Missoni jacket I bought super cheep (well no matching trousers so it would be super cheep would it not)……Looks like it was a while back that you made these but any hints/tips/got-yas? I was thinking of doing a trial run in stretch denim as for once I bought the wool-crepe full price ;)

They fit you like a glove, way to go! I really like the thick waist band. It make the pants for modern.
