I have been looking forward to getting my Pencil Skirt Pattern redrafted to offer as a free pattern. I am cheekily showing off my silk shirt at the same time.
This is a perfect combination. Shirt pattern and video easy enough for novice sewers available to members on angelakane.com.

I tried to download this pattern and all I got was a 3 page pdf with the photo of the model in the skirt and a few instructions for finishing the skirt. No measurements, no diagrams, no details. A novice can’t make a skirt with the information in the download as it is now.
Please let us know when you’ve fixed the download.
If this pattern isn’t really available for free, please just say so instead of wasting our time.

To download the diagrams, click on the “Print Pattern at Home” link. “Get all instructions” only gives you the 3 page pdf.

Are you not seeing the ‘Get it Now’ link on the right? Have you not been able to download the 15 Page Free Pattern drafted for A4 or Letter Printing? Did you not see that the Size is for Medium?
Have you watched my free video as suggested – Making A Dress – where I demonstrate making the skirt in quite good detail apart from the waistband so I describe that in the pdf.
The video is on my list but I thought I had supplied pretty good guidance that even a complete beginner could follow.
I am sorry if it’s not good enough.

Dear Angela Kane,
The main problem is not with your pattern. It’s in downloading procedures.
As I said in my first comment, all I got at first was 3 pages, not 15 pages.
After I clicked “Get it Now,” I had to click on 4 different links to get the whole package. And the instructions for that were not straightforward at all. For instance, if a link says, “Get all instructions,” I expect that I will get all instructions when I click on it. But that wasn’t the case here.
Why can’t the diagram and instructions be in one pdf document? Maybe that’s a question for Burda.

Thank you. You are right about the retro feel. I have been throwing some lunchtime cocktail parties recently (very 60’s) and this is the outfit I wore to the last one.

The skirt and top look great together – I can see why you chose a grey skirt. I can’t wait to start making these up. Can I ask – is this skirt pattern the same as the other skirt on your website that was in pink?

Yes it is roughly the same. I tidied it up a little and added the overlapping back vent.
I included a pattern for the waistband and I also refined the measurements a bit. If you are going to make this skirt it is worth downloading the latest version.
