Cocktail dress made for a wedding using the Maryy pattern with a few alterations.
The chiffon had been sitting in my cupboard so long but I hadn’t found a good project worthy of it. Alterations: back is elasticated, the front has a loop around the gathering and the straps are not crossed over as it is easier to wear with a normal bra. The Chiffon layer is not as gathered as the pattern suggest as I did not want to look like a balloon.
I chose stretch linen to make it more wearable and not have to feel like a prisoner! It also doesn’t have any gathering. This layer is shorter for a more playful side. The chiffon covers everything nicely.
Strecht Linen found in the clearance section, Chiffon from way back when bought at Clegs in Melbourne, Matching elastic for the back.
