It’s cold and wintery here and I’ve been ever so obsessed with knitted materials… warmth, texture and general loveliness…
I’ve been refashioning alot of horrible jumpers at the moment, turning them into 30s/40s style short sleeved numbers. I decided that it might also be fun to try my luck at hats. Turbans were the obvious avenue here because I love making them :)
Here’s a 40s style turban refashioned out of 2 vibrantly coloured (one lemony-green, the other light khaki) thick knit sleeveless turtlenecks which had lost their shape (purchased at op shop). The process was simple – I cut the pieces out (measuring against a turban I crocheted ealier in the year for correct fit), overcast the edges to avoid fraying, hand stitched and.. voila! Who woulda known that it would match my 40s jungle print skirt so well!
