Here’s been a recent project of mine that everyone I know wants to have! It’s been giving me compliments everywhere! I took a men’s dress shirt and turned it into this cute summer dress that looks very 40-esque. It was really simple to make too! Hope you like it! :)
1 men's dress shirt (should be big enough so that if the collar is held under your bust, the hem should hit around the top of your knees. If you would like a longer skirt or a fuller skirt, go for a larger size. Also, be careful with lighter colors and shades- especially white and yellow. Many dress shirts are thin enough so that in the right light, you'll be able to see your underwear through the skirt part!) Scissors Sewing Machine Thread Stitch ripper (or scissors with really tiny points on them) Ruler, chalk, and rotary cutters & mat if you have them (scissors are fine, it's just easier to cut straight lines I find with rotary cutters!)
