This has been a really popular style at my market stall, I love it for it’s relaxed comfy look and feel. Style is 1 piece without the shoulder seam, neck is cutout and bottom hem has a tie within the hem casing. Some of the designs I’ve either screen printed stripes or left in the plain fabric.
poly/cotton blends or 100% cotton

I love this pattern. This Kimono tee is super easy to sew, super comfy, and super awesome! I have made about 4 of these, and they are my go-to casual-yet-stylish “versatility top”!
End of gush, but this is really a great pattern.

I totally agree. I´m an absolute beginner and i was able to make a wearable shirt in less than 2 hours.

I absolutely love this and want to try it for my 4th project, however I want it with a v-neck. Do you think it would be easy to amend it to have a v-neck anyone?

I’m sorry this is a late reply, but yep, you could easily make a V-neck or even easier, cut the shape into scooped v-neck, kinda like an oval shape narrowing closer to the centred front. Hope you understand, all the best.

love this and cant believe how fast it was to make especially as i have left mine with raw edges so it meant 2 rows of stiching and i was done! cant wait to make my next… possibly nap time again tomorrow hehe :o)

you girls look pretty petiet, like me. I printed out this pattern from burda, is it the same Pattern? if so, did u have to modify it and how much? i cut it out at the smallest size, i think its a 10, but still way to big! the sleeves come down to my wrists alomst and th arm pit point is at my chest….

This shirt is actually brilliant. :D I have a feeling all my friends are going to be getting these for their birthdays this year!

I’m quite confused about step 1. Do I need to fold the shirt in half before stitching between the dots? Or do I just stitch between them first, then fold (in that case, what is the point of the stitch)? Do I fold the corners in and stitch (this is what it seems to look like from the close-up of the drawstring.) Do I only do the side that’s marked or do I need to do the opposite side as well? This step needs more detailed instructions.

Great project! I printed the pattern but am not sure where to line up the pages… are the tips of the arrows supposed to meet… or just where the page ends? Any help would be much appreciated! :-)

Sorry, when I turned the file into a postscript the lines disappear due to printer margins. The arrows should meet, but I will try and upload a better PDF, may take a little while to change the page sizing etc, however give me a bit of time and I’ll fix.

Hi again, I’ve uploaded a new PDF called “pix_kimonotee_new.pdf” and the image areas should now fit within LETTER or A4 page specs. Hope it works ;-)

I love it but when I printed out the pattern for some strange reason I can not put it together. It printed both of the numbers where you would line up the pattern pages on the same page. Instead of 1H on one page and 1H on another they are on the same page. And since there is no layout chart I have no idea how to put it together. I looking forward to make this.
