I’m trying to understand the skirt pattern from 10/2009, pattern 123. I am completely confused by the zip opening explanation (pretty much ALL of it!). Has anyone else tried this pattern, and can anyone help me work out how it works? And where does the left underlap piece come in?

In the end I bought myself a book about techniques (with pictures and photos), and just did it using that. The instructions make it sound harder than it is! My book is called “The Dressmaker’s Technique Bible: A Complete Guide to Fashion Sewing Techniques (Spiral-bound)” and I have found it to be so useful, especially as I am a beginner.

HEY i’m having the same trouble, it looks like the same desciption for the pattern is used for all skirt and pant pattern in the burda magazines…i have left side with a underlap attached and a right side with a underlap attached, usually only one piece has a underlap attached?and there is also the rectangular piece too-think thats the fly, i don’t know what to do with one of the underlaps…why is there two, i’m tempted to cut it but i want to do it the right way…!
