Hello Valrmzc! I am not a professional by any means but would think that with 30 plus years behind me, I might have a little knowledge to share. LOL I would think you would need an industrial machine to sew through the layers of webbing correctly. Also, make sure you are using the appropriate needle for the job at hand. Now when your ready to purchase beware of dealers who say they have an industrial machine but really have a regular that they are selling as an industrial just to get a sell. I believe the motor in the machine is how you can tell the difference, but this is beyond my expertise. Maybe try a little bit of research on the world wide web would be best. You might want to take a couple of pieces of your webbing with you when you go to look for a machine to make sure the machine will do the job. I wish you all the best in your search and look forward to hearing your results of machine hunting. Happy sewing!

Having sewn on industrial machines for years, there is no comparison regarding speed, amount of fabric you can sew through, stop and start (with leg lift). You will get much more done once you get the feel of an industrial machine. There is no going back to a home machine. As for the difference in the machine itself, industrial is all metal, much larger, seperate motor, sits in a table made especially for that machine. Google industrial sewing machines and there are a lot of sites, utube shows machines in use.
