I’ve added a section to the fabrics international wiki page of on-line fabric stores for eco-friendly fabrics that should be of general interest to the BurdaStyle community. Also, any suggestions on additional on-line stores that cover organic fabrics, fair trade fabrics or recycled fiber fabrics would be helpful to extend the list. So far the list is mostly concentrated on North America (with one Australian store) – additional addresses for Europe and other parts of the world would be a great boon!

You are just full of great ideas!
By the way, I do visit your wiki on a regular basis for information. It is a great added source finder!

Thanks zora, I’ve added these on.
Of additional interest, I’ve also completed a full article on eco-friendly fabrics now, that includes information on how to compare the eco-friendly characteristics of different fabrics, to what extent are fabrics such as hemp really eco-friendly, and what certification standards are currently being used. Making sense of how fabrics are being marketed and what is true and what isn’t is becoming increasingly important, as businesses become more agressive in promoting “green” products. I’m hoping my wiki article will help people make sense of this!

Okay, I just read the article on eco-friendly fabrics and what an article it is! I had no idea and thought that I was being more green than most. Only to find that some of the fabrics I have been using are not as environmentally friendly as I thought. What an eye opener! Thanks gedwoods, every seamstress needs to know this information!
