Description

I tried to figure out a simpler sewing technique for a clutch and this was the result of my first attempt. Its basicially an A3 piece of paper folded in three and two of the short sides are sewn up.
I started with an A3 piece of paper and cut out two pieces of fabric the lining and the outer. I then cut a piece of Interfacing slightly smaller than the seam allowance. I ironed the interfacing onto the outer fabric wrong side and then as if i was making a place mat i sewed both lining and fabric almost all around right sides together and turned it right sides out. i slip stiched close the opening and ironed it flat. then Like the paper it was a bit of trial and error in folding to find the two folds that gave me the proportions i wanted. I then Stitched two lengths of ribbon 1/3 in from either end to the right side of the fabric and folded one side up which would form the bag and stitched it on the outside. Once the flap is folded down you tie with a bow the ribbons closed and thats the clutch finished.
