Description

This is the dress I made for my friend Izzy to wear to our prom. We had a lot of fun choosing fabrics and discussing designs. It was the first time I made a garment for someone else so I was pretty nervous! It also didn’t help that my machine was not liking the satin fabric, but it all turned out well in the end! I was so relieved (and secretly proud!) when she tried it on and it fitted perfectly.

The pattern is a variation on pattern R in the Stylish Dress Book 3. I lengthened the top into a dress, and put bias tape around the neck as I found the original method bunched up the material.

The front is lovely, with the ruffles and the buttons. And you made the fabric look sophisticated! Congrats!
