White Peony Jasmine

Added Sep 20, 2013

This is my second Colette Jasmine! I had a hell of a time fitting my first one, but when I did I just loved the outcome. The silhouette is so flattering and feminine, I just had to make another! This one is in a lovely peony print fabric from Gorgeous Fabrics and is sleeveless. I simply eliminated the sleeves and finished the edges with a bias strip. Deets can be found on the ol’ bloggo http://coutureacademic.wordpress.com/2013/09/20/white-jasmine/

Material Notes

Cotton voile

Summer, Spring
Garment Type
Classic, Vintage

Great job – fitting is the key to success :-) My pants muslin is still waiting to be picked up one day

Beautiful! I’ve not tried this pattern yet, so when I want a challenge, I may attempt it! I hope I do as good a job as you when I do! :-)

Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope all goes well with the fitting! If it doesn’t, don’t feel bad, because you’re not alone. It is worth it, though. It really is a beautiful pattern.

Absolutely gorgeous. I have had awful trouble with this pattern and almost threw it out. Now that I see this lovely top, I will try again.

Hello and thank you! Yes, I’ve run into more than enough bloggers who have also had problems. If you take a look at my blog post you can see the alterations I’ve made. I essentially had to cut CF and CB seams straight and then fit the back with double pointed darts and reshape the CF completely by fitting it on my duct tape dummy. I wish you all the best! Don’t be afraid to bulldoze and do again :)
