Wool crepe Victorian style frock coat. I used a pattern! Simplicity 4083. Next time will taper the sleeves, narrow the waist, in seam pockets and a few more adjustments. Made a matching hood/scarf in the same fabric.

It is a very impressive start, I can’t wait to see the next one! Did you line this one? I always have trouble with coat linings…any pointers?

Don’t have them! Seriously though, I will have to make a pattern for the lining (that should be fun!) For the moment no lining.

It looks good, I know that “need to tweak” feeling, though. I am in the process of making something similar for my hubby, although so far I haven’t gotten past fabric selection and pattern alteration… muslin is next.

At the moment the coat is a box. This pattern seriously needs more of everything.

Great stuff!!!! But you have to lengthen the frontpart a bit to keep the balance. Telling you that beause you’ve wrote, that you want to adjust the pattern anyway. :)

Thanks. Should be nicer when the pattern is ‘tweaked’ a little.
