Velvet Ogden Cami and Ginger Jeans

My first pair of handmade jeans! I’m super proud of these although there are a few fitting issues and construction details that I think I could improve on next time. They are the Closet Case Files Ginger Jeans for which the sew-along is amazing. I used a Theory stretch denim from Mood Fabrics which is also where the rayon/silk velvet for the top comes from. The top is the True Bias Ogden cami which is a real pleaseure to show up and the perfect simple style to showcase a special fabric. Full construction details can be found on my blog here https://chainstitcher.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/my-first-jeans-and-seasonal-velvet-cami.html

I think you’ve got a very strong will and a very strong sewing machine! )) There are a lot of details, the seams are so exposed and the fabric is so thick, especially when you need to sew few layers! You are a brave person! ))

Thank you very much! I feel proud every time I wear both of these! It’s surprising how much you can wear velvet day do day when it’s a simple garment like this

A super cute outfit! I must try the jeans, I’ve added the pattern to the cart so many times but not quite purchased!

O go for it! It’s a fantastic pattern. Even if it’s not quite the style you want it’s worth making just for what you will learn when doing so. The sew-along is worth a read anyway

O you absolutely will make a pair of jeans! There are some fiddly aspects but if you break it down into little chunks it’s totally doable. Denim is so easy to work with. Thank you very much!
