Upcycled burda shift

Fraser Valley, C...

Is is a dress made from a previous Christmas dress project and scraps of chambray from the tote box.

I have to say the hardest part was making the pieces fit with the old materials on hand. I love it & will wear it. I also learned to make a button soup necklace. That’s a mix of buttons and beads tied with a fine hemp rope.

I look forward to dismantling clothing from my closet. When my mom saw me taking the cotton satin dress apart she must of thought that the heat got to my head. Well, sometimes good up cycling can be a creative mess, yet the end result is sure worth it. I totally am wearing it to work with a jean jacket. Look close there are bits of a blue jean on the back upper yoke section. Again jeans saved from the rubbish bin! Don’t throw old jeans out!

Well done for yet another up-cycle from you. These multi-panelled dresses always seem a bit complicated for me, but they’re perfect for fabric mixing, as you so lovingly show! :)

I always say that to make something new from something old is quite hard work so to make it good one need a lot of ideas and you always have a lot of them! I also like your button soup necklace, boho style indeed.
