London, United K...

I made this bag as I still had some leather left… Also wanted to use the postman’s lock (kind of, there is no lock…), which I purchased.
I put the metal feets, to protect the bottom, and also added a little accessary, which rather than contain key, I put the Mini Harmonica!

I porposely left inside not covered with other materials, and also attached a pocket.

Side has a little snaps, so can be widen the width.

It a size just big enough to fit iPad mini.

Very well done. Have you made many leather bags before? Was there a reason you chose not to line it as it sounds as if you have lined bags before but made a decision not to do so this time… I am thinking of working with leather and wonder if there are special considerations?

Hi JamiEC, thank you for the comment! Yes, I have made some bags before, 3 bags, in fact. I decided not to line this time, as the model of the bag had no linings – but also I wanted to leave the feel of inside of leather!

It’s depending on what kind of leather you would use, at the moment I’m using very soft leather (1.5mm thieckness) so, it can go through the sewing machine fine (apart from the Daria bag handle I made, which had to be hand stitched).

You also need some essencials, which is the coating on the raw edge of the leather (liquid form, which you paint on it and dries in 10 min), hammer, special snap on for leather (with their attaching tools).

I’m thinking of moving onto a thicker leather, so I have purchased some tools to open the holes for hand stitching…

But otherwise, you can sew almost as same as using the normal material to make!

Thank you The StitchReconteur – I have bought leather from the guy on eBay UK – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-LEATHER-OFFCUTS-CRAFT-PIECE-QUALITY-40cm-X-25cm-/281142768414?pt=UK_Crafts_Leathercraft_LE&hash=item41756a331e
