Rimouski, Canada

Made from Butterick 5559, I used Ponte di Roma fabric in peacock blue. This dress was very easy to sew. I can wear it all year long, so It becomes my new “LBD”.

Material Notes

Ponte di Roma knit and thread, that all.

Awesome job! I tried sewing this when I first started sewing, and the tucks were such a disaster for me. Do you have any tips on making those? Thanks

First, you have to mark all the tucks line on the right side of the fabric, I suggest using tracing paper. Second, you sew the darts. Then you fold the fabric at the tucks line, pin it in position and sew at 6mm from the fold, using the pressing foot as a guide. Finally, press the tucks downward and the darts upward. Hope it helped you. Good luck!
