Tri-Wrap-Along Top

Southern, Califo...

McCall’s 7249 was fairly simple to construct, while paying attention to the marked circles and fold/facing lines and especially the placement of the overlays at the “V” part of the neckline to avoid the bulk after turning them to the front of the top, thus concealing the neckline seams.

However, there were moments when I became “twisted”, prompting me to re-orient the overlays to their proper positions (with the gathered side edges of the left overlay already attached to the right side seam) before crossing the right over the left overlay.

Hope you all have a good day and happy sewing

Gorgeous top, I love draped tops and dresses . This one looks hard work though? I still have to finish a twist front Vogue dress that has been languishing at the bottom of my unfinished pile for Few years lol.you look smashing x

Thank you, Mary! The gathering and adjusting of the overlays to the sides of the front took time. There were moments of “twists of fury” when I lost track of “which goes where” especially just before attaching the other overlay.

The end result was worth it though. I might give the Vogue one another go? I’ve improved a bit in the last couple of years so I might be able to work the twist out now lol x
