I wanted to get the dress 128 from January’s issue of Burda 2011 since the moment I laid my eyes on the preview online, it just looked so stunning. Then I saw a few fellow seamstresses posting ready made versions on the forums and I just couldn’t wait to make it. I had a lovely shimmery brown jersey, very light and it suited perfectly. The dress was made in no time, but I decided to make the skirt panel much shorter, so it looks a bit younger and sexier. The dress was made and looked ok- I wanted to take some pictures and post it here. But the problem was- I didn’t get a chance to wear it anywhere, as it is a bit too revealing for the local idea of appropriate and I hate the bra bit showing at the back too. Eventually I cut it a bit shorter into a tunic and wore with a little cardigan over.
Still, it is nice to showcase what you create, so here it is (with an appropriate underwear aсquired for backless garments, so no x-rated pictures here:

This looks so great! I understand what you mean by nowhere to wear things. The people in my city think sweat pants are a good look for going out…..

Too bad Nerja! This is one of the best tunics for summer, the whole outfit is amazing! No dinner date would accept this? Boo! I’m going to check this pattern out for my purple jersey for sure.

Don’t want to offend anyone, but Ireland needs yet to do some growing up and opening the mind to class and elegance…. Must make a tank top to wear underneath if I want to go out in this in public.

Ah I see, no offense taken, I understand more of what you’re saying. Well, the top is a great piece and you are a great seamstress :)

Thank you so much! By the way- I didn’t mean no offence to you, I was just trying to be polite giving out about the locals where I am living now. In any other “normal” location the revealing back wouldn’t bother me for a moment!

A shame you haven’t been able to wear it out – it looks really good on.
