Titi Carmen's Bag for Books

Henderson, North...

My Aunt Carmen (Titi Carmen) in Puerto Rico wanted a bag to take to church when she was going for bible study or retreats or anything like that, so I made her one. I used the same pattern as the bag I made for my sister-in-law with more subdued colors.

I embroidered a Catholic symbol on the front of the bag and embroidered a message on the inside TQM (Te Quiero Mucho which means I love you very much in Spanish) using the technique I learned here on Burdastyle.

I had to tuck each side of the denim part of the bag because it stretched a bit when I was hemming it, so when I sewed the two together, it wasn’t quite right.

All-in-all, my fifth sewing project came out pretty well and I know, most importantly, my Aunt will love it.

Material Notes

Dark denim, cotton print, embroidery thread
