Tiramisu number 2 with frill

Added Jun 1, 2013

Perth, Australia

My second Tiramisu by Cake Patterns. This time I shortened the skirt and added a frill. The third picture shows the understitching I did to make the frill hem sit flat at the skirt edge.

Material Notes

Rayon/Polyester mix, frays like billyo and a total pain to sew with, the sewing room looked like it was covered in ash by the time I’d finished this!

This is a very pretty Tiramisu Jenny. I bet you look lovely in this as I think the colour of the fabric would really suit you. I have made 2 Tiramisus and I love wearing them. They are so comfortable to wear.

It’s a great little pattern isn’t it? I thought it would be perfect for work dresses. My Mum likes it so much that my next project will be one for her, she just needs to choose the fabric…

Oooh, ruffles are SO in here in South Africa at the moment, you’d be tres chic wearing that here! Looks like that pattern has taken your fancy. It is a lovely design, and the fabric is gorgeous.

And I am jealous of your dressmaker’s dummy! Can’t wait until I get one. :)

Thankyou Ladies :) As far as the fabric goes however, I was just desperate to make the dress and couldn’t find anything that was a bit different. On holiday with my Mum in South Australia, I found the material in a little shop in Victor Harbor at $10 a metre, so I bought enough to make two dresses, I prefer the blue one myself. The dummy was $90 secondhand from a guy who deals in deceased estates, her name is Sylvia and all the stuff I make looks better on her than me!
