I added some extra pictures to clarify the design, but it’s rather easy.
I know that corduroy doesn’t look like an obvious choice when making a circle skirt, but I tend to be rather stubborn :-). So I went with my gut and just made it. Also it’s a very lightweight corduroy, so it’s not too bulky!
I simple cut a circle skirt by measuring my waist and the desired length and using those measurements as a pattern.
I cut some pocketpieces and a waistband (basically a long strip of fabric the length of my waist and 1.5 cm (about 1/2") to fix the overlap of the wiastband)
I assembled the skirt and added some belt loops cause I like to wear my high waisted skirts belted.
With this fabric it was important to hang it out (I left it hanging on my mannequin for 2 days) so I could even the hem.
It is tru that the “stripes” that are typically for corduroy aren’t going in the same direction since it is a circle skirt, but this adds a little playful element and isn’t bothering. In the front the strips go vertical, at the side seams they match up horizontally and in between they go more diagonal. But that’s okay with me!
It still provides great spin around playtime oppurtinities :-)
I hope this was the information you were looking for!
