Description

My wardrobe is generally very colourful and lacking in classic pieces. One ‘wardrobe essential’ I’ve lacked is anything that could be called a little black dress. I’ve had both this fabric and this pattern for years and knew they went together to be my LBD, but hadn’t gotten around to making it. Then I heard about Canberra Frocktails, which was the perfect excuse to make something fun and classy and new, and this fit the bill. The pattern is Simplicity 5920 from 1965, and the fabric I can’t remember exactly but is a man-made fabric, with a satin back finish, two way stretch, and brown floral vine print – hence the mostly black in the title.

This is a really lovely timeless piece that looks Fab on you. I think ftocktails sounds fabulous. I love sewing as it destresses me and calms me x
