San Marcos, Cali...

I used the burda 7880 for this. It went together very quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was! This was made for a steampunk convention and was a huge success. I will definitely be making more bustles! There are fabric “origami” butterflies all over this dress and it must be worn with a pink wig!

Material Notes

I just purchased the pattern and will make it for a steampunk event and the 2767 for my husband. What a great colour with pink or red hair ;-) I should consider green as well. Love how your butterly decorations and how skirt looks way better with the added row of pleats and ribbon-lace than the plain skirt in the pattern. I might add a row of pleats on the bottom for mine or more depending on what fabric I find for a good price. What did you use to fill the bustle bum pad with?

It’s filled with poly-fil. I do recommend using a proper collapsable bustle with this though. Much easier to move around in.

Love the color combination – especially with your pink hair. It would be so much fun to wear and outfit like this.

Love the quirky take on Victorian style! That bustle looks fantastic. Does the bodice attach in front with hooks and eyes?

It buttons all the way down, next time I will use hooks and eyes. They are much easier on the fingers.
