The blue PolkaDott-Dress

I used a pattern of the Burdastyle Magazin for this more fitted 50’s-style dress. In the back I had to do a lot of alterations that took many hours and a lot of fittings, but after that the shape comes out very nice and special. I like the dress very much as complement for my full skirt dresses and plan to do a second one.

Material Notes

blue cotton with white dotts, white cotton

I love your dress, it turned out so pretty! I always wanted to try this pattern as well – it has the sweetest sleeves and collar, but almost everyone who made it complained about the fit on the back :( It seems that it needs a lots of fiddling in order to fit it right, but the result can be so pretty! I think I’m gonna give it a go, your dress really inspired me :)

Maybe you can use a fabric that keeps you motivated through the process of alterations, but that was not to expensive. During my sewing I sometime thought about just throwing it away. After all these hours and work I love the dress very much! I’m curious about your dress!

This is lovely – the style and the fabric are an excellent match for one another.

Yours is a lot better as the original looks too baggy at the back. Very nice.

Vielen Dank!
